Propel Orthodontics Begins Clinical Evaluation of New Orthodontic Procedure

Propel Orthodontics, a manufacturer and supplier of innovative orthodontic procedures and devices that are revolutionizing the way teeth are moved in orthodontic treatment announced today the official launch of a paid clinical evaluation for its Propel System.

The Propel System is a micro-invasive procedure performed by Orthodontists to greatly reduce the time in which teeth are moved. Through a ground-breaking scientifically proven, patented process called Micro-Osteoperforation™, the alveolar bone is stimulated to induce an inflammatory response that greatly accelerates tooth movement in the treated area. When used during active treatment, the length of time required to move teeth has been shown to be reduced by up to 50%. The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation (S4L), a national non-profit organization that provides orthodontic care to individuals with financial challenges and special orthodontic needs, announced today that it will hold its annual Casino Night fundraising event during Ormco’s 11th Annual Damon Forum, a practice-building conference that is designed specifically for orthodontists. The fundraiser will take place Friday, Jan. 20 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. MST and will be hosted by S4L sponsors Ormco and TeleVox.

eDossea ADVANCES SECURE FILE SHARING FOR DENTISTS

eDossea, a company that provides online tools for handling patient data, has expanded its secure online file-sharing service eDossea 1.0. Unlike most online file-sharing programs, eDossea 1.0 was designed for healthcare file sharing within guidelines of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). The program complements current digital systems, doesn’t conflict with practice management software, allows sharing between members and nonmembers, and includes secure online back-up of files.
